The Ottmar Commemorative
These pictures are of a rifle commemorating Maurice Ottmar. Many Guild members are involved and the finished rifle will be auctioned off and the proceeds turned over to Monika Ottmar. I got to do some of the metalmork, Chick Worthing finished the stockmaking duties. Gary Goudy applied his flawless checkering and Mark Stratton built custom bases. Roger Kehr is applying some of his excellent engraving to complete the embellishment of the work.
Del's Twins
My customer brought in a pair of pre-64 Model 70 Winchesters and a matched set of Claro blanks. They were as close to sister blanks as I have cut and they finished out beautifully. Del was telling people, "It's easy to get matched stocks like these, it's amazing what they can do with fiberglass!"
The African
This is a Winchester Model 70 in 300 Win. Mag. It was built for Doctor Dave G. and went from rather humble beginnings to a full blown Custom rifle with fitted case. I performed the work except for the exhibition grade checkering by Gary Goudy, and the amazing engraving and gold/platinum inlay of Michael Dubber.
