This is jumping ahead a bunch! In the next few weeks I'll get a lot more of the process illustrated. I did not recieve any in-progress pictures from either David on the stockmaking, or Diane's engraving. We'll see what we can come up with.
Diane did a GREAT job of the engraving on this pair. She did her American scroll in full coverage on the floorplate, with the pair of sevens in gold. The soft blued finish of the completed guns really shows her work nicely. It is not obvious from across the room that these guns exhibit this kind of embellishment. You have to get up close and personal to enjoy and appreciate her work.
The actions are barreled and square bridged, re heat treated and ready for some custom metal work....
